I was recommended Smart Balance by my doctor. It’ tastes fine. I prefer Land O Lakes salted butter, though. I figure I use so little, the real thing is best for me.

I use Promise Spread. My Cardiologist recommended it to me and it is not bad – its not butter – but close.

If you want butter just go buy straight up butter.. its better for you in the long run…on margarine, you need to choose something that has very low vegatable oil into…it’ll tell you right on the contanier how much is in there.

The kinds in a bowl, like Smart Balance, are supposed to be better. If you can find one that says it contains plant sterols, it’s supposed to be the best for your heart.

difficult to get good taste and texture with NO trans fats. But, these are some products on the market that contain no trans fats. Perhaps you should just try them and see which you like.

Smart Balance
Promise
Take Control
Brummel & Brown
Shedd’s Country Crock

use butter and whip it with a bit of water . This makes for a lower fat spread and is done by many catering firms to cut costs as well by expanding quantity
