Galactose (Galactokinase, ATP—>Mg2+ ADP) —> Galactose-1-phosphate (UDP-glucose, galactose 1- phosphate uridylyltransferase)——>Produce {{{{{Glucose-1-Phosphate}}}} + UDP-Galctose (UDP-glucose 4-epimerase, NAD+–>NADH)————->UDP-Galactose, with modification to #4 carbon a ketone (UDP-glucose 4-epimerase, NAD+—>NADH) —-> UDP-Glucose—–> back to galactose-1-phosphate.
